About the Planting
In this planting ReLeaf Michigan, DTE Energy Foundation, the village of Empire, Empire Lions Club, Empire Area Community Center, and volunteers planted 20 trees at Shalda Park on Friday, September 30th, 2022. The goal of this planting was to fill in a gap in the tree line along M-22, enhance the entrance to the village, provide shade to the new picnic area, replace dying trees, and enhance the aesthetic value of the park.
