Request ReLeaf Michigan Technical Services for Your Tree Planting Project

As part of the 2026-27 DTE Energy Foundation Tree Planting Grant, up to $95,000 in 1-to-1 matching funding is being provided to communities for tree plantings. This grant may include funding for ReLeaf Michigan to provide technical assistance to requesting communities who are awarded a grant in the 2026-27 cycle .

Which services would you be interested in?

30 minute zoom call with whomever is identified to discuss the process and logistics of a volunteer tree planting and requirements/best practices to ensure the planting event is successful

Site visit at potential locations to assess soil and site conditions and discuss recommended tree species and locations. Includes a follow-up email with recommended tree species, recommended planting location map, and ongoing consultation to discuss modifications to tree species and locations as requested

Guidance and advice for the procurement process i.e. how to go out for bids, nursery selection, how to select specimens to ensure quality plant material, and nursery/event logistics best practices and FAQ (consult only)

Guidance with volunteer registration and liability waiver processes

Sample marketing & communications documents to assist with event promotion, volunteer recruitment, and planting day agenda

Directions for producing Electronic thank you communications for your volunteers that outline community benefits of the trees they planted (i-Tree data)
